The New York Jets will be starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor against the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday’s Week 12 game.

Head coach Aaron Glenn believes that benching Justin Fields will reinvigorate offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand’s unit. The Ravens have shown improvement on defense lately, but they are still allowing an average of 25.1 points per contest.

Jets Wire has identified three potential X-factors for the Jets on offense:

Tyrod Taylor, QB

It begins with Taylor. The 14-year pro quarterback is 43-of-69 this campaign (62.3%) for 379 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. More of a gunslinger than Fields, Taylor’s traditional QB skill set should allow the Jets to make more explosive passing plays.

Adonai Mitchell, WR

The Jets continue to believe in Adonai Mitchell after he hauled 1-of-6 targets in a debut that was riddled with drops. Having Taylor at quarterback should allow the receivers more opportunities to make plays. Mitchell could possess more chemistry with Taylor than he did with Fields.

John Metchie III, WR

While Mitchell struggled, John Metchie III maximized his opportunities in Week 11. The former Alabama standout caught all three of his targets for 45 yards and a touchdown. Metchie is attempting to carve out a long-term role for himself with the Jets, and last weekend’s showing was a good start.
