Looking to find consistency after a rough patch in their season, the Lions begin the first of an important three-game homestand as they host a struggling Giants squad on Sunday afternoon.
Detroit returns home after a two-game road trip touring the NFC East, with their last contest being a disappointing 16-9 defeat against the defending champions in Philadelphia. The Lions didn’t get to double-digits in scoring for the first time in over two years, as they struggled on late-down situations, including going 0-for-5 on fourth down against Philly’s stout defense.
The loss sets the Lions at 6-4, as they’ve gone 2-3 in their last five games but haven’t lost back-to-back contests in that span. However, head coach and offensive play caller Dan Campbell isn’t worried about the team during this slump.
Despite the Giants’ 2-9 record, Detroit isn’t overlooking them at all, as this will be New York’s third straight game against a NFC North opponent. The Giants did lose both games but only by one possession each, and it was against the Bears and Packers, the two teams currently ahead of the Lions in the division.
