The Green Bay Packers showed who’s boss in the NFC North on Sunday, with their takedown of the Minnesota Vikings in a 23-6 final score. The Packers played a strong game against the Vikings, sacking Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy five times and also getting two interceptions from the signal-caller. Green Bay’s defense was especially strong, and they only played 44 snaps for the game.
“It was amazing,” Packers quarterback Jordan Love said of the defensive effort, according to the team’s official website. “It was a big-time job by everybody on the defense.”
One of the concerns going into the game was Love nursing a shoulder injury that he sustained during last week’s game against the New York Giants. With a full slate of critical games on the horizon, including one on Thanksgiving against NFC North rivals the Detroit Lions, it’s crucial that Love stays healthy.
Following the win over the Vikings, Love was asked about his injury. He downplayed it and said that he was “fine.”
“It didn’t affect me too much,” Love said in a postgame press conference when a reporter asked about his shoulder. “I took a couple hits on it, but it was fine for the most part.”
Prior to the game, the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport caused a bit of a stir with his post about Love, noting that the quarterback “is a go today, but he’ll be fighting through an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder. This injury (aka separated shoulder) left Love visibly bruised and if it was his right shoulder, he wouldn’t be playing. Instead, he was full go in practice.”

After the showdown, Love also commented on the strong performance for the Packers overall, noting, “The O-line was doing a great job on them. So, keep trusting that. The defense was balling out and getting a lot of stops. I think that plays a part in it, too. They were imposing their will up front and we’ve got to keep rolling with that.”

So, are the Packers sitting back and celebrating? Not so fast. They have a game against the Lions in a matter of days, and Love says they’re already on it. “Obviously the prep has got to get started today,” Love said. “Everybody’s trying to get their bodies back, get back healthy as quickly as possible.”
