The 2025 college football regular season is wrapping up with its final games this weekend, setting the stage for this year’s upcoming 12-team College Football Playoff race.
There are several top programs in contention to compete for this year’s national title, and college football analysts around the country are already revealing their College Football Playoff predictions.
On Monday night, legendary coach Lou Holtz took the stage alongside fellow College Football Hall of Famer Lee Corso for an Orlando Touchdown Club event.
Holtz confidently predicted his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish program to win it all in 2025-26. He served as Notre Dame’s head coach for 11 years from 1986-96, amassing a 100-30-2 record and leading the Fighting Irish to a national championship victory in 1988.
Notre Dame hasn’t won a national championship since.
“Holtz says Notre Dame is going to win it because he’s going to live until the Irish win another title,” reporter Daren Stolzfus of WESH wrote on social media.

Saturday’s Notre Dame-Stanford matchup will kickoff at 10:30 p.m. ET.
