49ers fans are confident in one thing: The offense only will go as far as quarterback Brock Purdy and running back Christian McCaffrey take them.
The importance of Purdy and McCaffrey was on display in the 49ers’ 20-9 win over the Carolina Panthers on Monday night at Levi’s Stadium.
Leading up to the prime-time showdown in Santa Clara, NBC Sports Bay Area asked fans which 49ers’ offensive player will have the biggest impact over the final six games of the 2025 NFL season.
Purdy won the poll with 48.8 percent of the vote, but he struggled mightily in the 49ers’ victory. The fourth-year pro threw three first-half interceptions and finished the game with a 58.5 Quarterback Rating.
McCaffrey, on the other hand, dominated his former team, racking up 142 scrimmage yards and one rushing touchdown on 24 carries and seven receptions.
Star tight end George Kittle pulled in 11.9 percent of the vote, while second-year pro wide receiver Ricky Pearsall secured the final 5.7 percent of the vote.
Purdy has battled a turf toe injury all season and made just his fourth start of the season on Monday night. He hasn’t looked like the quarterback who earned a $265 million contract this offseason.
As good as backup quarterback Mac Jones played while filling in, the Faithful understand Purdy’s dynamic ability can be a game-changer.
As the 8-4 49ers push for an NFC playoff spot, Purdy will be counted on to step his game up and show why he was worthy of being one of the NFL’s highest-paid quarterbacks.
