The Kansas City Chiefs have one of their most important games coming up when they face the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, and they will need their best players on the field, including Xavier Worthy. All eyes will be on the Chiefs and the Cowboys for the Thanksgiving matchup, with both teams fighting to stay alive in the NFL playoff race.
Worthy, who’s registered 31 catches for 340 yards and one touchdown this season, is dealing with an ankle injury, which he appears to have sustained in Sunday’s 23-20 win against the Indianapolis Colts. The Chiefs have now provided an update on Worthy heading into Thursday’s contest.

Worthy played his part in Sunday’s hard-fought overtime victory against the Colts. The second-year wide receiver caught four passes from quarterback Patrick Mahomes for 59 yards, including a crucial 31-yard catch in the Chiefs’ final drive in OT.
Worthy, however, popped up on the injury report on Monday. Kansas City did not practice on Monday but provided an estimation, in which the former Texas Longhorns star was listed as a limited participant. The Chiefs returned to practice on Tuesday and announced in the official injury report that Worthy practiced in full.

While there is still no official confirmation of Worthy’s status for Thursday’s game, the fact that he was a full participant in Tuesday’s practice bodes well for his availability against the Cowboys.
Patrick Mahomes (groin), Rashee Rice (hamstring) and Leo Chenal (knee) were listed on the injury report as well, but all three are expected to be good to go for the Thanksgiving matchup. Trey Smith and Noah Gray, however, are likely going to be sidelined.

The Chiefs enter Thursday’s matchup with a 6-5 record. Sunday’s win against the Colts improved their playoff chances to 52%, but a loss against the Cowboys would drop them significantly to just 35%.
The Cowboys, on the other hand, are 5-5-1. While their chances of securing a postseason spot are slim (9% entering Thursday’s game), all hope is not lost just yet for Dak Prescott and Co.
The Cowboys will host the Thanksgiving showdown at AT&T Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET.
