The Seahawks will be at home this week to play the Minnesota Vikings in the 20th meeting between the two teams with the Seahawks leading the series, 12-7. Here are connections between the two opponents.
Player And Coaching Connections
Sam Darnold, Seahawks quarterback
The biggest connection in this week’s game is Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold facing his former team, the Vikings, for the first time. In 2024 Darnold had what was a career season in his one year for the Vikings. The season included Pro Bowl honors, Pro Football Writers of America’s Most Improved Player and a trip to the playoffs. Following the season, the Vikings let Darnold become a free agent and he signed with Seattle in March.
Cam Akers, Seahawks running back
Cam Akers, a former second-round pick was signed by Seattle this week and has spent time with the Vikings across two different stints. Akers spent part of the 2023 season in Minnesota and then the following season was in Houston. He was then traded back to the Vikings and spent part of the 2024 season with the team, appearing in 12 games.
Max Brosmer, Vikings quarterback
Although not a direct connection with the Seahawks, the Viking quarterback, Max Brosmer who will be starting in place of J.J. McCarthy who is still in concussion protocol, has somewhat of a connection with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald. Brosmer and Macdonald are both alumni of Centennial High School.
Chazz Surratt, Seahawks linebacker
In 2021, Chazz Surrat spent the season with the Vikings and appeared in nine games, with all of his snaps coming on special teams.
