With a Black Friday win against the Super Bowl LIX champs, the Chicago Bears improve to a 9-3 record.

Surprisingly, this game didn’t feel stressful like the others. As a Bears fan, the team’s 24-15 win wasn’t something that I had to wait until the last few seconds to see if they secured it. The offense, defense, and special teams went to Philly on a mission to prove that they’re legit, despite claims that “they can only beat teams with losing records.”

Still first in the NFC North, inching closer to winning the division and securing a playoff spot, the team is finally thriving.

D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai each garnered 100+ rushing yards

D’Andre Swift and rookie Kyle Monangai were speeding on the field, literally. Swift showed out in front of his former team, getting the first touchdown of the game and ultimately rushing for 125 yards. Monangai rushed for a 4-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, putting the Bears up 17-9 (he had 130 rushing yards overall).

With Caleb Williams’ touchdown pass to tight end Cole Kmet, after the defense got a crucial tush push turnover, the score became 24-9. Eagles’ Jalen Hurts threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver A. J. Brown, which then made the score 24-15.

Swift and Monangai stepped up when the offense needed a spark. The rushing attack is the reason the Bears had 28 first downs, which is double that of the Eagles (14).

Overall, Chicago’s offense had 281 rushing yards, which, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia, was the most Philly allowed in a single game since 2015 and the most since 1973.

Bears’ defense extends their lead in INTs

The Bears’ defense is one of the best in the league. Kevin Byard got his sixth INT of the season, extending his lead as the player with the most and the defense’s lead overall.

Is Ben Johnson the coach of the year?

Of course, I’m going to say yes. Just look at how Ben turned this team around, and it’s only his first year as a head coach. From handling the clock properly to running the right plays and giving his guys the words of encouragement they need, Ben Johnson is the complete package.
