Here’s what you need to know about how to watch the Dolphins vs. the Saints, today’s matchup, the NFL Week 13 schedule, TV lineup and more.
The Saints come in at 2–9 after a rough 24–10 loss last week to the Atlanta Falcons, and they’re still trying to find any offensive consistency under Tyler Shough at quarterback. Their defense remains solid on paper, ranked near the top 10 against the pass and overall. Still, with injuries piling up at wideout (including Chris Olave) and running back (Alvin Kamara out), New Orleans may struggle to generate enough offense to keep pace.
The Dolphins are 4–7 and coming off a bye after a 16–13 overtime win over the Washington Commanders, looking to build some momentum. With offensive weapons returning, including tight end Darren Waller (recently activated), and playmakers like Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane still making big plays, Miami’s offense could challenge New Orleans’s pass defense in multiple ways. Turnover margin and execution in the red zone might be key. If the Dolphins stay clean and punch in drives, they could be tough to beat.

Saints player to watch
QB Tyler Shough. The Saints are clearly in that see-what-we-have mode with Shough, who has started New Orleans’ past three games and completed 68.1% of his passes in that span — turning 94 throws into 701 yards, a respectable 7.46 yards per attempt. But the deep ball wasn’t there this past week; Shough completed eight passes for more than 10 yards against Atlanta, yet none of those throws gained more than 18 yards.
Dolphins player to watch
RB De’Von Achane. He’s one of only five players entering the week with 800 or more rushing yards in each of the past three seasons. Atlanta’s Bijan Robinson, Baltimore’s Derrick Henry, Detroit’s Jahmyr Gibbs and Buffalo’s James Cook are the others. Achane is averaging 5.5 yards per carry; he could join Mercury Morris and Larry Csonka as the only Dolphins to have multiple seasons averaging more than 5 yards per rush. Achane averaged 7.8 yards per rush in 2023.
The Dolphins will continue to believe in miracles with their 4-7 record putting them seventh in the current AFC playoff picture. But once looking like a team set to plummet to unmanageable depths, Miami has responded by winning three of its past four games while also seeing two teams directly above them in the standings in the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens lose Thanksgiving Day matchups to give the Dolphins a chance to close within a game of both. Miami is a 5.5-point favorite to earn win No. 5 and put a little more pressure on the AFC’s top eight.
The Saints are set to play Sunday’s game without the services of do-it-all running back Alvin Kamara, who injured his knee in a Week 12 loss to the Atlanta Falcons (24-10). That setback was New Orleans fifth in six games, while head coach Kellen Moore has pulled the trigger on a quarterback change from Spencer Rattler to rookie Tyler Shough. The second-round pick has flashed with 282 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints’ Week 11 win over the Carolina Panthers (17-7). Even in last week’s loss to the Falcons, Shough completed 69.8% of his passes (30-of-43) for 243 yards and an interception.
