Week 13 of the NFL season and 10 games scheduled for Sunday afternoon, seven taking place in the early window and three in the late portion. Houston against Indianapolis and Buffalo taking on Pittsburgh are the headliners of the afternoon slate of games. Among the rest of the slate, the Rams and Panthers could also have huge playoff implications.

After losing its first three games to start the season, Houston (6-5) has won its last three to climb above .500 for the first time this season. The Texans will need to continue their winning ways against the Colts (8-3) this weekend to keep serious playoff hope alive. They’ll get quarterback C.J. Stroud back in action this week after having missed each of the past three games with a concussion.

It’s been an injury-riddled season for Bucs WR Chris Godwin Jr., but he’s finally starting to look like himself again here in Week 13.

He’s had two big-time chunk gains in the first half, including a 25-yard reception on Tampa’s opening drive, followed by a 35-yard gain in the second quarter to set them up inside the Cardinals’ 10-yard line.

Unfortunately, his strong drive ended with a brutal drop in the end zone, which would have been good for his first touchdown reception of the season. He currently leads the team with 56 receiving yards after entering the week with just 61 receiving yards over three games.

It was Stafford’s first pick 6 since Week 8 of the 2023 season.

With the successful PAT, the Panthers take a 14-7 lead over the Rams closing out first quarter.

Matthew Stafford threw 28 touchdowns without a single interception, but that streak came to an end in Week 13 after a pass was deflected off the helmet of a defender, picked off by safety Nick Scott in the end zone.

It was Scott’s first interception since the 2022 season, when he coincidentally played for the Los Angeles Rams.

The Vikings are down to their third-string quarterback, as starter J.J. McCarthy is out with a concussion in Week 13 and his backup, veteran Carson Wentz, is out for the year with a shoulder injury.

The next man up is UDFA rookie quarterback Max Brosmer, who’s slated to make his first career start for Minnesota against the Seahawks.

Brosmer started his collegiate career in the FCS, playing four seasons with the New Hampshire Wildcats. He eventually made his way to the FBS for his final season, starting 13 games for Minnesota, passing for 2,828 yards, 18 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.

McCarthy has struggled in his first season as a starter after missing all of his rookie season with a knee injury, so it remains to be seen how much of a downgrade Brosmer will actually be for the offense. McCarthy has thrown an interception in each of his six starts this season, having thrown two interceptions in four of his last five games.

He’s completing just 54.1% of pass attempts with 929 yards, 6 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on the year.

Plenty of action so far in Carolina!

After the Rams scored on their opening possession, Bryce Young & Co. answered with a touchdown of their own. It was a 69-yard drive, punctuated with a 35-yard catch and run from RB Chuba Hubbard.

Chuba Hubbard played five snaps on the opening drive to Rico Dowdle’s four, appearing to regain some ground in the race for snaps after a breakout run from Rico Dowdle earlier this season.
