It took until the 7th round, but Nevada got itself in the draft mix on Saturday. The Arizona Cardinals picked former Wolf Pack DB Kitan Crawford as the 225th overall selection.

Crawford only played one season for Nevada, which was 2024 after spending three years in Texas. He had 76 total tackles, six deflected passes, a forced fumble and two interceptions, returning one of them for a TD against Oregon State.

For his college career, Crawford played 59 games with 137 total tackles, five TFL and three interceptions. He was one of the best defensive players in Nevada’s backfield last year and was one of the most consistent.

Many teams saw him as a steal of the draft as someone who can provide quality special teams help as well as in the backfield. He also received props from QB Patrick Mahomes, who happens to be Crawford’s cousin.

The last players to be drafted out of Nevada was Romeo Doubs and Cole Turner back in 2022.

Congrats, Kitan! Always exciting to see Wolf Pack alumni getting chances in the pros.
