The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Monday that the team has waived wide receiver Austin Trammell from the 53-man roster.

No other corresponding transaction was announced.

So what might this move mean for the Jaguars moving forward?

Trammell appeared in five games offensively this season, making his first appearance in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

On the year, Trammell caught 3-of-9 passes for 46 yards. He also played six special teams snaps, per PFF.

Without Trammell, the Jaguars have Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, and Jakobi Meyers to shoulder the workload at wide receiver. Tim Patrick and Dyami Brown — who was inactive against Tennessee — will provide depth.

We still have to see how the week plays out, but with an open roster spot, the Jaguars do have room to now add Eric Murray back to the 53-man roster.

Murray was designated to return to practice last week after missing four games on injured reserve with a neck injury. He was a limited participant in all three practices last week.

GM James Gladstone could also be exploring outside options when it comes to filling that roster spot. Those transactions are typically announced on Tuesdays.

For what it’s worth, when Brenton Strange was added back to the 53-man roster from IR, the team released safety Kahlef Hailassie earlier that week to make room.
