Drake Maye has been sensational for the New England Patriots this 2025 season. Not only has he led the team to an 11-2 record, but he has also established himself as a legitimate MVP candidate.

In their 33-15 win against the New York Giants on Monday, Maye showed that the “MVP” buzz surrounding him isn’t all hype. He threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns, while completing 24 of his 31 passes.

Maye’s leadership and efficiency throughout the season have really stood out, and with him at the center, the Patriots have thrived. They are well on their way to making the playoffs for the first time since 2021, and they have a legitimate shot at finishing the campaign at the top of the AFC.

Against the Giants, Maye showed once again what makes him an elite quarterback. One of his best plays came in the second quarter when he found Kyle Williams for a 33-yard touchdown pass.

The accuracy Maye showed as he delivered the long ball directly into Williams’ hands really stood out, with the NFL even in awe of the pass and catch.

“Big time throw and catch from Drake Maye to Kyle Williams for six,” the NFL wrote, along with a clip of the play.

An alternate angle of the play showed Williams’ catch, which further highlighted Maye’s pinpoint accuracy.

“What a catch,” the NFL added.

The Patriots enter a bye week and return to action in Week 15 against the Buffalo Bills. They then play the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins to end the regular season.

If the Patriots are able to continue their winning run and eventually top the conference, it will certainly be hard to ignore Maye’s case for MVP.
