Andy Reid isn’t ready to quit on the season just yet. Even though the Kansas City Chiefs are 6-6 following their Thanksgiving Day defeat to the Dallas Cowboys, Reid believes they can still qualify for the playoffs by winning their remaining games.
Currently, the Chiefs are just outside the wildcard spots and part of the playoff bubble. A couple of wins in and slip-ups from teams around them would push the Chiefs into the playoff spots.
It’s easier said than done, of course. They needed the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars to lose in Week 13 to gain a sliver of advantage over those two teams. However, the Texans defeated the AFC South leaders, the Indianapolis Colts, while the Jaguars made quick work of the lowly Tennessee Titans in Music City.
Andy Reid isn’t losing hope. As recent history suggests, it’s foolish to write off the Chiefs when they are still mathematically eligible for January football. Speaking with Matt Derrick of Sports Radio 810 WHB, Reid claimed that the Chiefs are hungry to win games.
I’m telling you [Matt Derrick] we’re going to go after you every game. That’s how we roll. We’re going to try to tickle your tonsils on every play, every game. That’s the attitude we’re coming in with.
