Bookies.com: Take the points in case it doesn’t come down to a kick
Bill Speros writes: “The end of a dynasty is never pretty. The Patriots have yet to win a playoff game since Tom Brady retired. For the Chiefs, losers in 3 of 4, the slide this season has been precipitous. After winning 12-one score games last season, the Chiefs are now 1-5 in similar games this season. That includes a 31-28 Thanksgiving Day loss at Dallas, which wasn’t that close. The Texans own the NFL’s No. 1 defense (16.5 PPG), a four-game winning streak, and sit one game out in the top-heavy AFC South. Houston should have beaten Kansas City last postseason if not for Park Avenue’s meddling and the noodle leg of kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn. This time, it won’t come down to a kick. But take the points just in case it does. The Texans suffocated Indy on Sunday on the road in a 20-16 upset. This week, they’ll choke out a Chiefs’ offense that’s running on fumes, Travis Kelce’s Old Man Strength, and Patrick Mahomes’ dwindling mojo. Meanwhile, the Chiefs’ defense can’t stop a nosebleed, never mind C.J. Stroud and Nico Collins.”
The site’s formula predicts that the Chiefs will win the NFL Week 14 game against the Texans.
ESPN: Chiefs have a 64.6% chance to beat Texans on Sunday Night Football
The site gives the Texans a 35.1% shot at winning the NFL Week 14 game, with the remaining percentage accounting for a tie.
Dimers: Chiefs 23, Texans 20
It writes: “After extensive simulations, our model gives the Texans a win probability of 37%, while the Chiefs have a win probability of 63%.”
Matt Johnson writes: “We’re saving our upset pick for Sunday Night Football. The Houston Texans have a defense that is perfectly equipped to cause problems for Patrick Mahomes, and the Kansas City Chiefs don’t have a rushing attack good enough to cause real headaches for Houston. So, the bet is on the Texans’ offensive line holding up well enough for C.J. Stroud to make just a few big throws from the pocket. Coming down to the wire, Houston’s defense gets the fourth-down stop that hands Kansas City its seventh loss of the season.”
