Lions WR Jameson Williams explains how his field vision has developed
Williams said that if he catches the ball in the open field, it turns into a touchdown ‘99.999 percent’ of the time, Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.
Arnold has struggled with multiple injuries this season, including hamstring, groin, and concussion issues. The second-year player aggravated a shoulder injury from Week 4 multiple times before being placed on injured reserve.Detroit’s secondary has been depleted by injuries, with players like D.J. Reed and Kerby Joseph also missing significant time.
Dating back to the summer, Terrion Arnold has struggled to stay healthy in 2025.
The Detroit Lions’ second-year cornerback pulled his hamstring in training camp. He then hurt his groin in the season opener against Green Bay, missing the second half. Last month, he suffered a concussion that sidelined him for multiple games.
But a right shoulder injury he incurred in a Week 4 victory over the Cleveland Browns had the most prolonged impact. He aggravated it the following game against Cincinnati and head coach Dan Campbell said then he would be “out for a long time.” Arnold pushed to return to action. And he did, less than a month later, in a Nov. 2 loss to Minnesota. But the shoulder continued to cause him pain, flaring up again in a Thanksgiving Day defeat to Green Bay.
“It’s been there,” Lions coach Dan Campbell told reporters Tuesday, Dec. 2. “It’s not like it went away. It bothered him in this game a little bit.”
So, the Lions decided to shut Arnold down, placing him on injured reserve Tuesday. According to NFL Network, Arnold will undergo season-ending surgery this week to repair the ailing joint.
“I mean it’s always tough losing a brother,” cornerback Amik Robertson told the Free Press. “The crazy thing about this league is stuff like that happens. This is a very aggressive sport. Stuff like that happens.”
Robertson knows. He has been the one constant in a secondary that hasn’t had its complete set of starters since late September. Robertson, who normally plays in the slot, has spent most of the past two months filling in at one of the two outside cornerback positions. He initially was forced to switch spots after D.J. Reed strained his hamstring in Week 4. Reed missed the next six games. Arnold’s shoulder injury, which knocked him out shortly thereafter, depleted an undermanned department even further diminished when Kerby Joseph aggravated a bone bruise on his left knee in an Oct. 12 loss to Kansas City. Joseph has been sidelined since.
“I know it can be frustrating when you get hurt,” Campbell said, referring to Joseph.
Arnold can probably attest to that. His tidal wave of bad fortune this year came one season after he logged more than 1,000 snaps and appeared in 17 of 18 games as a rookie.
“It just feels like one of those years,” Campbell said. “I mean I wouldn’t say there’s anything out of the norm. He got off to a really good start in camp and then the bug hit him and then it just kind of was one thing to another. But yeah, it’s just one of those years. It’s a tough year for him.”
