The Minnesota Vikings‘ defense has not been itself this year. They have struggled with the play of some veterans, Andrew Van Ginkel has seemingly disappeared from the game plan, and the secondary has been hit or miss. As a result, the team has seen a bunch of losses stack up, with the latest being a shutout in which the offense looked even worse for ware.
However, it is now Wednesday, which means we are on to Week 14 against the Washington Commanders. The NFC runners-up in 2024 are also dealing with a handful of injuries, specifically a big one to quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Daniels had some soft tissue issues early on in the season, but the big injury came in Week 10. While running with the ball and extending for extra yards, he dislocated his non-throwing elbow. He has not played since, and the team is currently on a seven-game losing streak.
On Tuesday, head coach Dan Quinn gave an update saying Week 14 may not be the week he returns. CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones shared the quote from his press conference.
The Vikings want to be able to face, and ideally beat, a fully healthy Washington Commanders squad. It takes away any excuses from a fanbase, but it seems that will ne be avoided as the Commanders will likely start backup Marcus Mariota for another week.
