Drake Maye threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns in Monday’s win over the Giants.

After helping the Patriots win their 10th-straight game with a lopsided victory over the Giants on Monday, Drake Maye was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. 

This marks the first time that a Patriots player has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week since Dion Lewis secured the honors after scoring two touchdowns and rushing for 129 yards in a Week 16 win over the Bills in December 2017.

Maye was once again efficient and effective in New England’s 33-15 win over the Giants on Monday Night Football. The second-year QB completed 24 of his 31 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns in the primetime victory at Gillette Stadium. 

It’s been a breakout season so far for both the 11-2 Patriots and Maye — who is firmly fixed into the conversation for NFL MVP honors so far this fall.

Maye stands as just the third QB in league history under the age of 24 to record at least 10 games in a season with at least 200 yards passing and a passer rating of more than 100.0 — joining Patrick Mahomes (13 games in 2018) and Matthew Stafford (10 games in 2011).

Ironically, the 37-year-old Stafford might be Maye’s top competitor for league MVP. The Rams’ signal-caller has thrown for 32 touchdowns and four interceptions in 2025, although he was knocked for three turnovers in Los Angeles’ loss to the Panthers on Sunday.

Through 13 games this season, Maye is completing 71.5 percent of his throws for a league-high 3,412 passing yards to go along with 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. 

Maye’s accolade marks the second week in a row where a Patriots player has taken home Player of the Week honors. After New England’s 26-20 win over the Bengals on Nov. 23, rookie kicker Andy Borregales was recognized as the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after converting on four field goals.
