Former UW Huskies star running back Myles Gaskin is a member of the Seattle Seahawks again.

Love among 3 Seattle Seahawks designated to return to practice

A day after he was waived from the 53-man roster, Gaskin re-signed with the Seahawks as a member of the practice squad. This is the third time Seattle has signed the Lynnwood native to its practice squad this season.

The 28-year-old Gaskin, who was a standout at Seattle’s O’Dea High School, was promoted to the 53-man roster on Saturday and made his Seahawks debut on Sunday. He rushed for six yards on three carries in a 26-0 win over the Minnesota Vikings. It was the first time Gaskin played in an NFL game since Week 5 of last season.

Seattle waived Gaskin on Tuesday but was able to re-sign him after he cleared waivers.

Gaskin, a seventh-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2019, is in his seventh NFL season. He’s rushed for 1,360 yards and seven TDs while averaging 3.7 yards per carry over his career. He also has 712 receiving yards and six TDs on 102 receptions.

Gaskin is UW’s all-time leader in career rushing yards (5,323), rushing TDs (57), yards from scrimmage (5,788) and total TDs (62).

He rushed for over 1,200 yards and at least 10 TDs in all four seasons with the Huskies, led the Pac-12 with 21 rushing TDs and 24 total TDs as a junior in 2017, and he helped the Huskies make their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance in 2016.

The Seahawks have one open spot on their 53-man roster and practice squad, per Seahawks.com’s John Boyle.
