Let’s lead off with the good news — just four players were listed on the first New Orleans Saints injury report ahead of Week 14’s game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But now the bad news. All four of those players are starters, and none of them practiced on Wednesday.
That group included right tackle Taliese Fuaga (ankle), running back Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle), wide receiver Chris Olave (back), and safety Justin Reid (knee). We’ll know more about their statuses when the second injury report is released on Thursday afternoon. Fuaga and Olave were able to finish last week’s game with the Miami Dolphins so you’d hope they at least will be available for the upcoming matchup with Tampa Bay.
As for the Buccaneers? Star left tackle Tristan Wirfs (oblique) was their only non-participant on Wednesday, and three others practiced fully: cornerback Benjamin Morrison (hamstring), outside linebacker Haason Reddick (ankle), and safety Rashad Wisdom (quad), who is on injured reserve. Five other players were limited at practice to start the week. Here’s the full list:
Wide receiver Mike Evans (collarbone), injured reserveWide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck), injured reserveWide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. (fibula)Running back Bucky Irving (shoulder)Quarterback Baker Mayfield (left shoulder)
We’ll have a better idea of everyone’s outlook once practice wraps up later today. Stay tuned.
