Another Seattle Seahawks player received an NFC award on Thursday. This time it was for his performance over an entire month.
After a nearly perfect November in which he set a franchise record, Seattle Seahawks kicker Jason Myers was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month on Thursday.

The Seahawks’ longtime dependable kicker went 15 of 16 on field-goal attempts and made all 16 of his extra-point attempts while amassing a league-best 61 total points in November. He surpassed Stephen Hauschka for the all-time franchise record in made field goals in the process. Myers has now made 187 field goals in six seasons with the Seahawks.
Myers’ 15 made field goals in November led the NFL. He made at least three in four of five games. His only miss was a 61-yard attempt as time expired in Seattle’s 21-19 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 16, which would have matched his career long.
Myers became just the fourth NFC kicker to score 60 points in a month, and his 15 field goals were tied for the third-most in a month in NFC history, according to Seahawks PR.
The two-time Pro Bowler leads the NFL with 122 points and 28 made field goals in 33 attempts this season. He is second with 38 made extra points and has the most extra-point attempts without a miss of any kicker in the league.
Myers is the second Seahawk to earn player of the month honors this season. Standout wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month in October.
Linebacker Ernest Jones IV was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
