I love Charles.

I love that he leaned into the rivalry, right?

Ditka, Forrest Gregg, and all the greats stories over the years.

I love that you leaned into it, but don’t think that Matt LaFleur Doesn’t remember that.

Oh, not just Matt, by the waythis summer when I was going through camps.

You know, obviously, Matt LaFleur, Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, There’s a ton of coaches, right?

All kinds have circulated really from That tree.

They all know each other well.

And I was passing through one camp.

I’m not going to air out who it was because Obviously, this was something that, you know, it was not meant for, Uh, his name was to be attached to it, but he asked me, um, Hey, you’re going through Chicago later in your trip?

And I said, you know, no, I’m not.

I said, You know, II wish I could, you know, obviously Ben Johnson being there, Everyone’s really excited.

He asked me, he said, What do you think of that guy?

He said, “Have you ever met him?”

Have you ever talked to him?

I said, you know, I’ve, I’ve never done one-on-ones, but you know, I’ve kind of been in, In a group with him before.

I’ve heard him talk.

I said, he’s kind of interesting.

And I, you know, I said, uh, I said, what do you think?

And this is an offensive-minded guy.

And he basically said he felt like Ben got a little big for his britches to walk In there and basically take a shot at Matt, the way that he did.

And it wasn’t just Matt that noticed it.

I think Kyle Shanahan noticed it.

I think Sean McVeigh noticed it.

I think a number of people inside that tree noticed it.

And I think they talked about it afterward happened.

Because Ben is not really a known name other than his work, You know, in terms of friendships, time spent together, Obviously commingling within the coaching ranks.

There isn’t much connection there to Ben.

So, I think there was a lot of curiosity about How he could just walk into that Chicago franchise and basically take a shot at Who really is the guy, other than, you know, I?

Kevin O’Connell’s been great.

Dan Campbell’s been great, but in terms of length, longest.

Track record: the guy who’s dealt with different quarterbacks in, Uh, in his tenure there.

Matt has earned respect among his peers.

And I, I think some people took umbrage at Ben Johnson saying what he did.

And I think there are some coaches around the league who would like to see Ben.

Kind of got his clock cleaned a little here after making the comment that, That he ultimately did.

That was not taken lightly.

Even though Matt didn’t expound on it, and others, uh, Did not.

I can tell you, I know it was.

Definitely talked about in their circles.
