Heading into Week 14 NFL action, there are a lot of questions surrounding Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
At the start of the year, the Bills were widely viewed as a top-tier Super Bowl contender. With an 8-4 record and plenty of obvious roster flaws, those expectations have come down a decent amount.
Buffalo is still in the playoff picture and are without a doubt a team to watch, but there are real concerns that this season might end in major disappointment. The New England Patriots are headed towards winning the AFC East and have the best record in the league at 11-2. As for the Bills, they’re simply trying to keep everything together.

One clear issue for Buffalo this season has been the production the team has received from the wide receiver position.

During the 2025 NFL offseason, fans were hoping to see the Bills get aggressive to bring in a No. 1 wideout for Allen. That same hope was present ahead of the trade deadline. Buffalo decided to pass on making an impact move.
That has come back to bite the team.
Looking ahead to the 2026 offseason, the Bills will have a chance to fix their mistake. They might have a chance to fix it by acquiring the best wide receiver in football.
Minnesota Vikings superstar Justin Jefferson has been clearly frustrated with the way his team has played this season. That frustration and the struggles the team has endured has brought about loud trade rumors surrounding Jefferson.
It’s unlikely that the Vikings would trade Jefferson or that he would demand a trade, but if he did, Buffalo could very well emerge as a favorite to make a blockbuster deal for him.
Simply thinking about a pairing of Jefferson and Allen would give opposing defenses nightmares. For Jefferson, it would give him a chance to play with a true superstar at the quarterback position. That opportunity would have to be interest for him.

On the other hand, Allen would be getting the best wide receiver in the league and potentially the best wide receiver of all-time when everything is said and done. Adding Jefferson would fix the issues the Buffalo offense has had.
No one should expect to see the Bills pull off a blockbuster offseason trade for Jefferson. However, if the opportunity presents itself, Buffalo should pursue him with everything it has.
