MIAMI GARDENS — It’s Year 2 for Sun Sentinel Dolphins columnist Chris Perkins and Dolphins writer David Furones picking prop bets, which they’ll do for all 17 regular-season games.

Prior to each game, Furones and Perkins will select a “Best Bet” and a “Longshot.” The “Best Bet” selection is a near 50-50 proposition while the “Longshot” is at least +300 or a 3-to-1 probability.

They don’t place dollar amounts on their bets, but you’re welcome to wager as much as you can afford.

Furones is 8-4 on his “Best Bets” while Perk is 3-9. On the “Longshot,” Furones is 4-8 while Perk is 1-11.

Perkins and Furones use the Hard Rock Bet app for odds. Be sure to check the South Florida Sun Sentinel predictions for Sunday’s outlook.

Perk’s Best Bet: Breece Hall over 68.5 rushing yards (-115)

The Jets rushed for 197 yards when these teams met earlier this year, and Hall rushed for 81 yards on 14 carries. I’m expecting more of the same considering Miami’s run defense remains unsettled. This will be a good test for the run defense.

Furones’ Best Bet: De’Von Achane 80+ rushing yards (-135)

The reigning AFC Offensive Player of the Month stays hot. The Jets have a run defense tied for 25th, no longer have Quinnen Williams on that defensive line, and the run game will be an even greater focal point in some cool temperatures.

Both hit on their best bets last week, as Perk had Achane over 20 rushing yards in the first quarter, which he accomplished on his opening-drive touchdown dash alone against the Saints, and Furones had Tua Tagovailoa getting picked off.

Perk’s longshot: Ollie Gordon II anytime TD (+325)

The Dolphins have had good success this season in goal-to-go situations although their rate of success has dropped a bit recently. Regardless, Gordon is due to bang in a TD from close range. Distance, and manner (rushing/receiving/KO return) don’t matter in this category, but I could see Gordon getting a 1- or 2-yard TD run.

Furones’ Longshot: Darren Waller anytime TD (+300)

You mean to tell me you can get a Waller touchdown at this price after he had two against the Jets last time he faced them? Waller plays his second game back from an IR stint due to a pectoral injury and should get back into a groove, while being a focal point after he exploited mismatches against the Jets in the first meeting.

Neither writer hit the longshot last week.
