The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans in Week 14 in an important game that could have AFC playoff implications.

The Chiefs are 6-6 following a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Texans are now 705 coming off a win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Houston is one game behind the Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars for the AFC South lead, but Kansas City is well behind the Denver Broncos for first place.

That means Patrick Mahomes‘ team will have to hope for an AFC Wild Card spot, most likely.

Going into Week 14, the Texans have been propelled by their defense. They currently sit 1st in the NFL in scoring defense and total defense and are 4th in passing defense, according to ESPN.

However, history shows that bodes well for Mahomes.
