A few NFL greats, one of which is an ardent Carolina Panthers supporter, believe quarterback Bryce Young should be solidified as the face of the franchise.
Former Pro Bowlers Chad Ochocinco and Ryan Clark spoke about the former No. 1 overall pick on this week’s episode of Inside the NFL. Their discussion came off the heels of what was perhaps the best win for Carolina since they drafted Young—a shocking 31-28 upset over the Los Angeles Rams from Week 13.
And with Young’s fifth-year option becoming somewhat of a talking point following the victory, Ochocinco and Clark both gave quite an endorsement of the improving signal-caller . . .
Young—in his 21 games since being benched last season—has totaled 37 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and a league-leading nine game-winning drives. He currently has the Panthers at 7-6, half a game back from the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and threatening for their first playoff berth since 2017.
The Panthers will have to make a decision on Young’s fifth-year option this upcoming spring.
