One more year of Sauce?
Oregon State star wide receiver Trent Walker appears to be receiving one additional year of eligibility, he indicated on social media Sunday.
“I got one more,” Walker wrote in a post on X, including the eyes emoji and a shrug emoji.
Walker just completed his redshirt senior season at OSU, but he said earlier this season that he planned to apply for a waiver from the NCAA to get one additional year.
The impetus for that application? After redshirting his true freshman season, Walker saw action in just two games the following year in 2022. He’s only played three full seasons at OSU (2023, 2024, 2025).
It appears the waiver was granted for the Beavers’ top wideout. Whether he will return to OSU under new coach JaMarcus Shephard or enter the transfer portal is unclear; Walker did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Oregonian/OregonLive.
Walker, a Beaverton High School product and lifelong Beavers fan, led OSU this season with 68 receptions for 823 yards, scoring two touchdowns. He was even more productive in 2024, catching a team-high 81 passes for 901 yards and two scores.
The transfer portal window opens on Jan. 2 and runs until Jan. 16, but players can announce their intentions before then. Keep track of all the Beavers’ incoming and outgoing transfers with The Oregonian/OregonLive’s transfer portal tracker.
