Jacob Bronowski is set for a reunion with Alex Golesh.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Bronowski is departing Pat Narduzzi’s Pitt Panthers program to become Auburn’s special teams coordinator under the first-year coach Golesh.
Previously, Bronowski and Golesh worked together at the University of Tennessee. There, Golesh was the architect of Josh Heupel’s high-flying offense while Bronowski was a special teams analyst.
He had nearly been lured back to Rocky Top a year ago, when Heupel conducted his search to replace the departed Mike Ekeler.
But Bronowski remained with the Panthers and nearly helped lead the program to an Atlantic Coast Conference Championship appearance.
Pitt entered the final weekend of the regular season needing to beat Miami to have a shot at the ACC crown. Instead, the Hurricanes won emphatically and on Sunday were awarded the No. 10 seed in the College Football Playoff.
Bronowski earned his first full-time special teams coordinator role at Miami (Ohio) under Chuck Martin. He served two years in that post, 2022-23, before he was hired away by Narduzzi.
Auburn hired Golesh immediately after the regular-season schedule concluded on Nov. 30. The program had fired Hugh Freeze and turned to Golesh rather than interim DJ Durkin in the immediate hours following Auburn’s ‘Iron Bowl’ loss to Alabama.
