The Aggies are 11-1 before playing in the contest and will have plenty of motivation to earn another win this year after finishing the regular season with a 27-17 loss to then-No. 16 Texas on Nov. 28.

Texas A&M is led by sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed. He’s completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 2,932 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The dual-threat quarterback has added 466 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

Reed, 21, is eligible to enter the 2026 NFL Draft.

During an appearance on the “Outta Pocket with RG3” podcast on Monday, Reed confirmed he would not enter the draft and would come back to play football in College Station in 2026.

“I’m coming back,” Reed said. “I’ll be back.”

Reed would be a popular name in the transfer portal if he wanted to explore other programs to help him prepare for the draft in 2027. The Nashville, Tennessee, native has no plans to leave the Aggies.

“I thought that this was the best place to be,” Reed said of Texas A&M. “I don’t think there’s any reason I need to leave Texas A&M. I have the job, and it’s mine to lose. And I don’t think I will, but like, there’s no reason for me to leave. I think I have a great OC, I have a great coach, I have great players around me. We have the best stadium in college football.

“The best college town in college football. I mean, there’s no, like, Barstool even said it, best college town. Like, there’s no need for me to leave and go anywhere else.”

Reed and Texas A&M will surely have an incredible atmosphere to play in when the Hurricanes travel to play the Aggies in the first round.
