Former Las Vegas Raiders RB Sincere McCormick.

It feels like a lifetime ago that the Las Vegas Raiders had an eight-game winning streak over the Denver Broncos. The Raiders just lost their fourth game in a row to their AFC West rival in Week 14.

Now the Broncos are going to give a chance to a former promising Raiders player. According to Mike Klis of 9News, Denver has signed running back Sincere McCormick to their practice squad.

He previously had a tryout with the team, and now gets a chance to prove he deserves playing time. McCormick has had a trying NFL career. He joined the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2022, but missed his entire rookie season due to injury.

He bounced on and off the roster before finally getting a chance to play last season. He played in five games, starting in two of them, and averaged 4.7 yards a carry. Just as he was making a name for himself, he got hurt and had to miss the rest of the season.

The Raiders cut him before the start of this season, but he did last with the San Francisco 49ers. He lasted with them for a while before getting cut. He had a brief stint with the Arizona Cardinals, but couldn’t get on the field for them. The Broncos have a strong running game right now, but McCormick could provide them with some depth if they need it.

Raiders Have Worst Rushing Offense in NFL

The Raiders had the worst rushing in the NFL last season, so they drafted Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 pick in the 2025 Draft to hopefully fix that issue. They also hired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly to a massive contract to solve the issue.

Through 13 games, the Raiders are averaging 72.7 rushing yards per game, which is dead last in the NFL by a wide margin. That’s actually a pretty big step back from the 79.8 rushing yards per game the Raiders averaged last season.

There’s no reason to think that Jeanty can’t still be a great player, but the Raiders would’ve been wiser to upgrade the offensive line over drafting a running back so early. Las Vegas is the only team that hasn’t broken 1,000 total rushing yards this season. The 3.4 yards per carry they’re averaging is also the worst in the NFL.

Raiders Have to Address OL in Offseason

The fact that the Raiders invested heavily in running back this offseason, and the rushing offense got worse, proves that the offensive line is a big problem. The group was already questionable early in the season, but left tackle Kolton Miller and Jackson Powers-Johnson have been out with injury.

They are arguably the team’s two best offensive linemen, so not having them has made things even worse. The Raiders are going to have to be aggressive in addressing the offensive line in the offseason. They’re set at left tackle, and Powers-Johnson should be starting in one of the guard spots. Other than that, the Raiders could stand to upgrade any other position across the offensive line.
