Who will start under center for the Raiders is in flux after Geno Smith injured his shoulder in Sunday’s loss to the Broncos, causing him to leave the game and Kenny Pickett to step up in his place. Pickett finished 8-of-11 for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Though we won’t know much about Smith’s status and progression until the first practice of the week, but Head Coach Pete Carroll noted postgame Sunday that the plan is to continue to have Smith start if he’s able.

“I’m going to do what I think is the right thing to do, and if Geno can play, that’s my thought,” Carroll said. “But I know Kenny can play, and so our players understood it too that Kenny did a good job, and they recognized that in the locker room after the game. But I’m looking for Geno to get back out there and see how he does but we’re not going to play him if he’s not ready. And so, Kenny will be ready to go, and Aidan [O’Connell] will be ready to go as well. That’s just how we deal with it.”
