The Buffalo Bills currently sit at 9-4 after their win over the Cincinnati Bengals, which edges Josh Allen and Co. closer to a playoff spot.

While the Bills haven’t been as consistent as many had envisioned, they are still in a great position to punch their ticket to the playoffs. But this 2025 season has been a weird one, as the AFC looks decidedly different from previous years.

And it is here that former MVP Cam Newton thinks the Bills and Allen might finally get their chance at Super Bowl glory.

At the time of writing, there’s no Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow in the playoffs, and perhaps the biggest factor in Buffalo making the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes, isn’t in the playoffs, either.

And because of that, Cam is putting all his Super Bowl eggs into Josh’s basket.

”Josh Allen’s kryptonite might not have an opportunity to impact him,” Newton said on First Take. “And that’s been Patrick Mahomes. If he has to go to Denver, if he has to go to any other team outside of Arrowhead, I’m putting my money on Josh Allen because he’s the game changer we all know he can be.”

Are Bills Super Bowl-bound with no Mahomes?

That might be getting a little ahead of ourselves, but there’s no denying that without Patrick in the picture, the postseason does have a different feel.

After all, Mahomes and the Chiefs have ended the Bills’ season four straight times when they have matched up in the playoffs, and right now, Kansas City doesn’t look like it’s making the postseason.

And that could be huge for the Bills, who, for some, in the offseason, were the undoubted Super Bowl favorites given their roster.

Now, without the boogeyman standing in their way (we think), the path might be clear for Allen to finally come through and deliver the franchise its first Super Bowl.
