The Cincinnati Bengals remain on track to miss the playoffs once again, which means the conversation about the Zac Taylor hot seat has fired up in a big way.
It didn’t take long for the topic to surface, either, given the loss in Buffalo that snatched hope from the franchise about the playoffs just as quickly as Joe Burrow’s return provided it.

Technically speaking, the Bengals aren’t mathematically eliminated from the playoffs right now. But the Bengals need a miracle in the form of help while also winning out.

If and when the Bengals do miss the playoffs, that will mean the Bengals have missed the playoffs five times over the course of Taylor’s seven years as head coach.
Some of those years were spent rebuilding, of course, and the playoff appearances led to AFC title game appearances at a minimum.
Even so, the luster of those big moments continues to fade, hence the conversation about Taylor’s hot seat this upcoming offseason.
