Well, if anybody thought the Philadelphia Eagles’ season was going poorly heading into the game against the Los Angeles Chargers, things now look 10 times worse than anyone could have imagined.

Jalen Hurts arguably played his worst game as a professional, throwing four interceptions and fumbling.

Saquon Barkley tried to get some things going on the ground, rushing 20 times for 122 yards and a touchdown, but it felt like Nick Sirianni and Kevin Patullo didn’t do enough to get him the football later in the game.

Instead, they allowed Hurts to continue running the offense, and unfortunately, he was brutal.

There were questions about whether Sirianni was taking over more as a play-caller over the past few days, and he admitted that he had his hands on the offense much more than usual.

When speaking after the game, he thought the offense did some good things, but added that he has to continue trying to help it improve.

“Yeah, you know, again, I’m the head coach,” Sirianni said, per NBC Philly. “My attention goes to places that I feel like it needs to go. This week was with the offense, and I will continue to go in there with those guys and grind it out through the weeds with them and continue to move forward with that.”

“Again, I thought we moved the ball and did a lot of good things today,” Sirianni said. “But you know, again, we didn’t finish drives and we didn’t for multiple reasons and had some turnovers for multiple reasons. You always look to improve the process, and we’ll get back to work and grind out through it again and I anticipate being in there still.”

As the Eagles get prepared for the back end of the season, it’s tough to say this team is in a good spot.

Now sitting at 8-5, Philadelphia not only put itself in a tough position to win the division, but if it continues to lose games, there’s even a chance it can miss the playoffs.

Nobody would’ve expected that after winning a Super Bowl a year ago, so it’s something the Eagles will have to figure out.
