Shedeur Sanders earned the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback job for the rest of the 2025 season after he accounted for nearly 400 yards and four touchdowns in a thrilling 31-29 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 14.
“I think [Sanders] has constantly and consistently gotten better in each one of these games and how he’s approached this game,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game. “He’s been working very hard. So, I feel good about where his development is heading. He knows there are always going to be plays that he can be better and those type of things, but he’s very intentional about getting better each and every game he’s out there.”
Despite his 1-2 record as the team’s starting quarterback, Sanders got some good news in the form of a draft prediction from ESPN’s Field Yates.

Yates revealed his latest mock draft that has the Browns selecting Ohio State star wide receiver Carnell Tate with the No. 4 pick in the 2026 draft.
“The Browns will likely have conversations about the quarterback position, but Shedeur Sanders’ growth in three games as the starter has been encouraging. And in this scenario, the two clear-cut best signal-callers in my rankings are off the board. But the Browns also have work to do within the offensive supporting cast, including at offensive tackle and wide receiver,” Yates said.
While the Browns seem to have hit a home run in rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr., no Browns wide receiver has reached 40 receptions for 500 yards so far this season.
