*This is a prediction*
What happened to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? I really can’t understand what happened to the offensive machine I saw against the Eagles.Â
After starting the 2025-26 NFL season with a 5-1 record, the Buccaneers are 2-4 since then and have shown real offensive struggles against not great football teams. Baker Mayfield isn’t playing at an MVP level anymore and Todd Bowles is headed to the hot seat.
The Buccaneers have activated Mike Evans from IR for Week 15, they now have a healthy Bucky Irving, and Chris Godwin is slowly returning to form. Many people will think that the Buccaneers just need time to dominate NFL games once again, but I strongly differ. Changes are needed, and it starts by trading Baker Mayfield.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Trade Baker Mayfield to the Minnesota Vikings
Despite being my dark horse for the MVP award at the start of the season, Baker Mayfield’s stats have collapsed when it mattered the most. The Buccaneers need Mayfield’s best version, but that may not be available.Â
From Week 7 on, Baker Mayfield has completed less than 57.7% of his throws, with eight touchdowns and five interceptions, which aren’t great numbers. You could argue that he has been affected by the Bucs injuries, but that didn’t limit him at the start of the season, nor last year.Â
The Baker Mayfield experiment in Tampa went great, but this team won’t get a Super Bowl out of Mayfield, and they have enough talent to compete if they add a more reliable quarterback.Â
Many teams will benefit with Baker Mayfield under center, but for me, there’s only one right answer, and that’s the Minnesota Vikings. As well as Tampa Bay, Minnesota needs to step up, and realize the J.J. The McCarthy project is done. The Vikings messed up big letting Sam Darnold leave, and now they’re paying the price.Â
The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best defenses in the league and Baker Mayfield will throw to Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, two elite talents. The Vikings could make NFL news with a tempting package of a second round pick, a third rounder, and Carson Wentz.
This is a great opportunity to add depth in the case of the Vikings, and for the Buccaneers, this is the perfect moment to invest in the NFL Draft and look for their franchise quarterback.
