We’re nearing the end of college football season. That doesn’t mean teams won’t be busy over the next few months.
With early signing day in the rearview mirror, recruiters will now look to build up their 2026 rosters through the transfer portal. That method of roster additions proved crucial for Texas Tech, which won a Big 12 title and made the College Football Playoff after a transfer portal haul a year ago.
The portal will open for 15 days from Jan. 2-16 after the CFP quarterfinals. Players on the two CFP finalists will also have an extra five-day period from Jan. 20-24 to transfer after their season ends.
Below, we’ll keep track of portal updates for Baylor, Texas, SMU and other area programs as the calendar shifts into 2026.
