Todd Bowles Collapse Is Nearing
December 12th, 2025
A week ago the Bucs were struggling but hadn’t lost to a bad football team all year.
Now they’ve lost two games in a row at home to sadsack division rivals. And the Bucs’ defensive mistakes have been repetitive, as if the unit isn’t capable of learning or adjusting.
That’s what Joe calls a collapse — the rotten cherry on top of Tampa Bay starting the season 5-1 and freefalling now to a 7-7 record.
Head coach/defensive coordinator Todd Bowles presides over this mess. Yeah, yeah, Bowles has to coach it better and the players have to play it better. But Joe is sick of that Bowles cliché.
Did the Bucs not have enough talent to beat the Saints and/or Falcons? Regardless of the Bucs’ mess of injuries, including starting two backup guards tonight, Joe is absoultey sure they had enough bodies to win. But the ylost.
That falls very hard on Bowles.
Bowles’ strength as a head coach has always been an ability to keep the Bucs together and resilient. The latter hasn’t been around this team since October.
If Bowles cannot right this sinking ship in 2025, Joe’s not sure why anyone would have confidence, hope or expectation that he could next year.
