Kenny “Two Gloves” Pickett is staring down a major opportunity in Week 15, as the former Pittsburgh Steelers QB could be in line to start for the Las Vegas Raiders following Geno Smith’s shoulder injury.
On Wednesday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport revealed that Smith was unlikely to start on Sunday for Las Vegas, potentially giving way for Pickett’s second start in two years, against another former team he’s played for — the Philadelphia Eagles.
Selected by Pittsburgh with the 20th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Pickett never truly lived up to his status as a first-rounder. He requested his trade after Russell Wilson signed with Pittsburgh in March 2024, where Pickett wound up as a backup QB behind the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts.

He was traded once more to the Cleveland Browns in March 2025, only to be traded again to the Raiders in August, where he’ll attempt to prove to the rest of the league that he’s still a starting-caliber signal caller at just 27 years old.
