What’s at stake? For the Chargers a chance to eliminate Kansas City from postseason contention will be sweet. But the most important thing would be is they go to 8-2 in the conference and 5-0 in the division. That is huge especially if Green Bay beats Denver.
For the Chiefs, it is sink or swim time. They are currently third in the AFC West and don’t look like they will make the postseason for the first time in over a decade. Basically they are playing for pride.
Who’s better? KC. Their offensive line is much better than the Chargers. Until they are mathematically eliminated it is tough to believe KC is not the better team.
Matchup to watch: Chargers D-Line vs. Chiefs O-Line: The Chargers front five controlled the game on Monday. They kept pressuring Jalen Hurts into bad throws and they kept flying around making tackles. If they can consistently get to Patrick Mahomes and tackle the runnings backs they will put themselves in a favorable spot.
Chargers win if: the offensive line can protect Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert was sacked seven times on Monday. He can’t keep taking a beating like that especially with the playoffs on the horizon. The offensive line and receivers need to step up and get open for him.
Fantasy sleeper: Ladd McConkey. The receivers need to wake up and help contribute to the offense. McConkey has been quiet since the Steelers win. Expect a big game from him in what is his first time playing in KC.
Prediction: The Chargers surprised me last Monday with their big time win against Philly. In this game they have the chance to take the head off of the AFC West dragon. I just don’t believe it happens because of the shaky offensive line and KC in desperation mode. KC 23 Chargers 18
