The Denver Broncos have ruled out two players ahead of a Week 15 showdown with the Green Bay Packers.
Denver ruled out wide receiver Pat Bryant (hamstring), who missed all three days of practice this week. The rookie receiver has been serving as the team’s No. 2 receiver in recent weeks. Payton indicated after Friday’s practice that Bryant could have played if it were a playoff game.
With Bryant sidelined, Marvin Mims, Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Troy Franklin could be in line for more targets on offense. The Broncos also signed receiver Elijah Moore to their practice squad last week.
Elsewhere on the injury front, guard Ben Powers (biceps) was also ruled out. Powers is “getting there,” according to Payton, but he won’t play against the Packers on Sunday. Powers has until Dec. 31 to return from injured reserve.
Right tackle Mike McGlinchey (shoulder) made a surprise appearance on the injury list, and did not practice on Friday. The Broncos listed him as questionable for the Packers game.
Meanwhile, Broncos tight end/fullback Nate Adkins (knee) and defensive lineman D.J. Jones (ankle) have been cleared to return to action after Adkins missed the last five games and Jones sat out last week’s game. Denver’s complete Friday injury report can be seen below.
Sunday’s game will be regionally televised on CBS (view the TV broadcast map). The Packers have a 1-7 record in Denver, but they are considered road favorites going into Week 15.
