The Los Angeles Chargers are going for the season sweep of the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and are also aiming to further solidify their standing in the AFC playoff race.
However, things may have just become more difficult for the Chargers.

Los Angeles wide receiver Quentin Johnston — who scored a couple of touchdowns against the Chiefs back in Week 1 — has surfaced on the Chargers’ injury report with a groin issue.
Johnston is currently listed as questionable for Sunday’s clash at Arrowhead Stadium. His participation in Friday’s practice was limited.
The third-year pass-catcher has been wildly inconsistent in 2025, having logged a grand total of 42 catches for 533 yards and seven touchdowns. However, Johnston has been a steady target for Justin Herbert ever since entering the NFL in 2023.
Luckily, Los Angeles still has Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen in tow, not to mention stud rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden II. But the Bolts really need all hands on deck to topple a desperate Chiefs team this weekend.

Johnston was originally selected by the Chargers with the 21st overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft and has been a relatively big disappointment thus far.
The 6-foot-2 weapon caught 38 passes for 431 yards and a couple of scores during his rookie campaign. He then hauled in 55 receptions for 711 yards while reaching the end zone eight times last season.
No one has ever doubted Johnston’s talent, but his questionable hands and his lack of consistency have both been major issue for the TCU product throughout the early stages of his professional career.
For example, Johnston has snared just five balls on nine targets over the last three games, and he has seen his production plummet during the second half after a strong start to the year.

Regardless, if Johnston is unable to take the field in Kansas City, the Chargers will definitely miss him.
Los Angeles is 9-4. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are just 6-7.
