The soul searching continues for the Eagles, who have shown brief flashes of championship-worthiness with far more signals of a team trying to find its way since last season’s Super Bowl title. The Birds have lost three in a row again with an air of helplessness on offense fueled by recent inconsistencies from quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has completed more than 60% of his passes just once in his past five games. He also comes off a four-interception performance in last week’s 22-19 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, which is just the latest issue facing an offense that ranks 22nd or worse in the NFL in passing, rushing, scoring and total yards.

As an opponent, the Raiders are among the most friendly the Eagles could hope to see on their home turf in an effort to lick their own wounds. First-year coach Pete Carroll has found tough sledding in his NFL return with a team struggling at the quarterback spot behind long-time Carroll favorite Geno Smith and with a dire lack of elite talent to start bridging the gap. The Raiders are still in the hunt for the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and they are, in fact, in the pole position for that slot with their 2-11 record and seven straight losses.
