A week after scoring a touchdown on his first NFL reception, former Auburn wide receiver Shedrick Jackson could get another chance to play for the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Last week, the Raiders elevated Jackson from their practice squad, making him eligible to play against the Denver Broncos. The former Hoover High School standout played only two offensive snaps, but one of them ended with a 25-yard touchdown reception in a 24-17 loss on Sunday.
Each NFL team can elevate two members of its practice squad to active status for each game, making them eligible to play. Las Vegas plays the Philadelphia Eagles at noon CST Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, and the Raiders elevated Jackson again on Saturday with wide receiver Alex Bachman sidelined by a thumb injury.
Jackson’s first NFL touchdown came in his seventh game.
Jackson’s NFL journey started when he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted rookie on May 12, 2023. Jackson played five offensive snaps and was targeted once in five games with Cincinnati in 2023.
He’s in his second season on the Las Vegas practice squad and had played three offensive snaps in his only previous appearance with the Raiders in a 31-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 19.

Two other players with Alabama football roots were elevated from practice squads in the NFL on Saturday to make them eligible to play on Sunday.
Former Samford safety Chris Edmonds has been elevated for the Cleveland Browns’ game against the Chicago Bears.
The Browns waived Edmonds off their active roster on Wednesday. On Thursday, Cleveland signed him for its practice squad. On Saturday, Edmonds became eligible to play again with his elevation designation.
Edmonds has played in five games this season, getting on the field for four defensive snaps and 92 special-teams plays.
For the third straight week, the Seattle Seahawks have elevated former Saraland High School star Velus Jones Jr.
In Seattle’s 26-0 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 30, Jones had 17 special-teams plays. But in a 37-9 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 7, the running back had six offensive snaps to go with 16 special-teams plays, and he ran for 32 yards on four carries.
The Seahawks play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Jones joined Seattle’s practice squad on Oct. 29, five days after he had been waived by the New Orleans Saints. To start his fourth NFL season, Jones played in five games with the Saints and returned eight kickoffs for a 22.9-yard average.
