San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been on the PUP list since the start of the season after missing the team’s final 11 weeks of last year due to a torn ACL, but now his season is officially over.

On Saturday, the 49ers placed Aiyuk on the reserve/left squad list, meaning he can’t return at any point in 2025. With the wide receiver having his contract voided over the same, it’s fair to assume that he’s played his last snap in San Francisco.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated last month that Aiyuk had been showing up to the team’s facility for his morning rehab sessions before leaving for the day. This move may indicate a change in Aiyuk’s attendance since then.

For the remainder of the season, San Francisco will rely on Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall, Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowing (currently on injured reserve but could return).

Heading into 2026, the 49ers will have to add more to the room with Jennings and Bourne hitting free agency.
