Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Brandon Graham and Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kenny Pickett.
They say Father Time is undefeated. He may just never have had to play 37-year-old Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Brandon Graham.
Graham, who came out of retirement to return to the Eagles in October, made franchise history with 2 sacks in a 31-0 shutout win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15.
History came for Graham in the first quarter with his first sack on Raiders quarterback and former teammate Kenny Pickett.
“Brandon Graham became the oldest player in Eagles franchise history with a sack,” NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark wrote on X.
The win also broke a 2-game losing streak by the Eagles, who improved to 9-5 overall with 3 games left in the regular season.
Eagles Fans Heap Praise on Graham
Graham’s late-season heroics drew praise from Eagles fans online. Especially because the sacks came with him playing out of position at defensive tackle as NFL All-Pro Jalen Carter missed another game following several shoulder procedures.
“Brandon Graham got a game ball after the Eagles win for becoming the oldest Eagles player with a sack,” Clark wrote on X. “And he got two sacks. He says he likes playing defensive tackle.”
Graham added 2 more QB pressures and 1 TFL. Both of his sacks were in the first half.
“Honestly, let Brandon Graham keep playing as long as he wants,” Eagles Fan Central wrote on X. “Unc’s still got it.”
“Brandon Graham (37 years-255 days) is the oldest NFL player to record multiple sacks in the first half of a game since Bruce Smith in 2002,” Sports Radio 94 WIP wrote on X.
“Look at Brandon Graham holding down the OGs!” Matick Hokushin wrote on X. “BG is back.”
“There’s been so much talk about Brandon Graham‘s leadership this week,” The Athletic’s Zach Berman wrote on X. “It brings to mind Chris Long’s final season in Philly when Long (and Howie Roseman) pointed out he’s not just here to lead — he’s here to play.”
Graham Shocked NFL By Coming Out of Retirement
Graham, a 2-time Super Bowl champion, shocked the NFL by coming out of retirement almost 2 months ago. Graham initially retired following Philadelphia’s 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on February 9.
Graham has spent his entire, 16-year NFL career with the Eagles.
“Sources: Former Eagles standout Brandon Graham, the longest tenured player in franchise history, is finalizing a deal to rejoin the franchise this week,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on X on October 20. “Graham played 15 seasons in Philadelphia and now will return for his 16th season.”
Graham, the Eagles’ career leader in games played, is best known for his strip sack of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady with 2:12 remaining in Super Bowl LIII which gave the ball back to the Eagles and sealed the first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
Graham was the Eagles’ first round pick (No. 16 overall) in the 2010 NFL draft after earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors at the University of Michigan in 2009.
By returning in 2025, Graham hits another unique career milestone — he will have approximately $100.2 million in career earnings.
