Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes are gearing up for what they hope will be a second straight championship run in the College Football Playoff.
After last season’s shocking run to a national title, Ohio State enters this year’s playoff as a championship favorite. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes were defeated in their last game against the Indiana Hoosiers in the Big Ten championship.
Despite that loss, Ohio State looks like a potential favorite in the College Football Playoff. However, there are some who are already starting to look at how the Buckeyes can improve during the upcoming offseason.

Of course, the NCAA transfer portal has become a hot topic of conversation. Plenty of players have already made their intentions clear about entering the portal to find a new home. Ohio State will be among the top preferred destinations for players across the country.

Keeping that in mind, who could the Buckeyes consider targeting? One intriguing player has been suggested as a potential target for Ohio State.
Anthony Miller of Ohio State Buckeyes On SI has suggested Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh as a potential option.
“With Carnell Tate destined for the NFL Draft next year, the Buckeyes this season proved that without Tate and Jeremiah Smith in the lineup, they need to add a difference maker at wide receiver,” Miller wrote.
“Michigan State’s offense covered up the potential Nick Marsh could have, with 59 receptions for 662 yards and six touchdowns. Put Marsh with Smith and quarterback Julian Sayin together, and this Buckeyes offense keeps rolling in 2026.”
Jeremiah Smith will be back next season and Chris Henry Jr. will be joining the wide receiver room for the Buckeyes. Adding Marsh would give Ohio State a three-headed monster for Julian Sayin to work with. That would be a nightmare scenario for opposing defenses.
As mentioned, Marsh caught 59 passes for 662 yards and six touchdowns this season for Michigan State. He would immediately make the Buckeyes a much more dangerous offense.

Marsh is going to be a highly sought after player in the transfer portal this offseason. There are plenty of contenders across the country who would love to have him in their offense.
That being said, Ohio State will be a top-tier contender if the program chooses to pursue him. He’s a name worth keeping a close eye on in the portal.
