‘They came out, they punched New England in the mouth’ | Damien Harris, CBS Sports

After another superhero effort from Allen on Sunday, Damien Harris didn’t forget about not only the Bills’ defense, but all the offensive pieces around Allen that helped make that win possible. Specifically, Harris gave all three running backs their flowers: Cook, Ray Davis and Ty Johnson.

“Josh Allen showed today he is still the reigning Most Valuable Player in the National Football League. And he’s had a couple games like that. They’ve lost a couple games here and there that have made us forget about the greatness of Josh Allen, but it was on full display today. The way he played, absolutely outstanding. Creating plays, running the football, hitting those throws in the second half. He was phenomenal.

But I do want to talk about the rest of the team because they played their part in the second half … What did the Buffalo Bills do? They came out, they punched New England in the mouth. What did the defense do? They started to get pressure on Drake Maye, which got New England’s offense out of rhythm … Let’s talk about all the running backs because they all played a key role in this football game. You look at Ray Davis and setting up the return game, setting up the offense with the kickoff returns. You look at what James Cook was able to do to be the steady workhorse. Look at Ty Johnson … When the game was on the line, third down and they had to have it, they didn’t give it to James Cook, they gave it to Ty Johnson. Another experienced back that has played at a high level for them all year. So, I definitely want to give Josh Allen his credit, he played like the best quarterback in the NFL today, but I’m really proud of the rest of the guys that stepped up around him in that second half.”
