Bengals opponent calls game vs Cincy 'personal' in 2025

The Cincinnati Bengals have many interesting opponents and notable scenarios on the 2025 schedule that was announced last week.

There are, for example, massive road games that will decide the season. There’s a shocking six road games against playoff teams. And there’s even a little gift from schedule-makers early in the season.

But there’s also at least one opponent calling his matchup with the Bengals a “personal” one.

Said opponent is Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery, who popped up in his team’s social media video asking about their most anticipated game of the season.

Montgomery dropped the following: “If you know, you know. This one personal.”

Of course, Montgomery was born in Mount Healthy, Ohio and rooted for the Bengals, drawing inspiration from the likes of Cedric Benson.

The Bengals host Montgomery and the Lions in Week 5 in a Fox broadcast featuring a 4:25 ET kickoff.
