Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy spoke with reporters recently before practice, discussing his community foundation that helps single moms.
“Wherever I touch, I want to be able to leave a mark so coming to Kansas City changed my life, so I want to do something to be able to change the people’s lives in Kansas City.” said Worthy, “My foundation is helping single moms so being able to give them tools to make them a better parent or a better dad or make the kidhave a memory that could change their life. Just being able to do that for them.”

Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. recently spoke with Worthy’s mother, Nicky Jones, executive director of The Worthy 1’s, about the foundation’s mission. The second-year receiver is focused on having an impact for the remainder of the season, whether or not the playoffs become a reality.
“Having a great game is cool, but we have bigger things ahead of us,” said Worthy, “We need to win out obviously to be able to have that chance to make the playoffs, but we still need people to lose, unfortunately but just to be able to get that chance so just going out there, executing and getting the job done.”
The Chiefs want to continue building with their players, both on and off the field.
